SORT YOUR WASTE
TRASH, COMPOST, AND RECYCLING BINS
Request free indoor trash, recycling, and compost bins for delivery.

Helpful signage is available in various styles and languages to help your customers and staff sort waste properly.
RECYCLING + COMPOSTING TRAININGS
Learn how to sort waste properly with an in-depth workshop.
REDUCE SINGLE-USE PACKAGING WASTE
BRING YOUR OWN CUP (BYOC) CAMPAIGN
This online map highlights Seattle businesses that allow customers to bring in their own cups.
$500 REUSE INCENTIVE
You can purchase up to $500 worth of reusable dishware or borrow-a-cup services for your business or event.

PLASTIC BAG BAN (OCTOBER 2021)
Thin, single-use plastic bags are banned statewide. Large paper bags and thick reusable plastic bags can be provided to customers for 8 cents each.
“SKIP THE STUFF” LAW (JANUARY 2022)
Single-use items including utensils, condiment packets, and straws must be requested by the customer at all food service businesses statewide.
STYROFOAM BAN (JUNE 2024)
Food service products like containers, plates, bowls, clam shells, trays, and cups are banned in Washington.

Request a leak detection kit.
REDUCE WATER FLOW
Install a sink aerator on all hand-washing sinks.
UPGRADE YOUR TOILET
Get up to $100 per toilet (limit: 3) to upgrade to more efficient toilets
WATER ASSESSMENTS
Evaluate your water use and identify areas you can save money.
PREVENT POLLUTION
INSTALL SINK STRAINERS
Keep fats, oil, and grease out of water pipes with free sink strainers.
POST REMINDERS
Remind customers and staff to keep trash out of our wastewater system and only flush toilet paper down the toilet with free signage.
