MINI-GRANT FOR WOMAN-OWNED AND MINORITY-OWNED BUSINESSES TO ADVANCE THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN SEATTLE
We’re seeking ten (10) Woman-Owned and/or Minority-Owned businesses in Lake City, Rainier Beach, South Park, and Chinatown-International District to help build a more sustainable, healthy, and thriving community.
Blue Daisi Consulting has partnered with Seattle Public Utilities to create a micro-grant program to advance the circular economy in Seattle. This program offers $1,000 in grant funds to pilot creative solutions that reduce waste by creating options that increase practicews including sharing, repairing, reusing, repurposing, redistributing, and rethinking in your business operations.
Selected businesses will receive:
Up to $1,000 in grant funds to prototype or implement circular economy projects within your business operations.
A pre-workshop assessment with an optional baseline assessment to brainstorm project ideas and inform the design of the workshop.
An interactive educational workshop that frames the circular economy as both a climate solution and business opportunity.
An individualized post-workshop coaching session to design and guide your circular economy solution.
HOW TO APPLY
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To apply, please fill out the form below by Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. The application is designed to collect basic contact information and answering preliminary questions about your business’ current usage of circular economy practices.
You must represent a Woman-Owned or Minority-Owned Business with a City of Seattle business license.
You must attend your virtual pre-workshop assessment. (April/May 2026)
You must attend a 90-minute introduction to the circular economy workshop. (May 2026)
You must attend your virtual post-workshop coaching session. (June 2026)
Priority will be given to businesses with a location in the Lake City, Chinatown-International District, Rainier Beach, or South Park neighborhoods of Seattle.

Absolutely! If selected for this mini-grant, we will guide you towards a project. You will have the opportunity to get a baseline waste assessment with a certified TRUE Zero Waste Advisor to identify the best opportunities for waste reduction and creative problem solving.
The educational workshop will help you deepen your understanding of the circular economy so you can clearly imagine where your business might fit. Finally, through one-on-one coaching, our team will help you develop your circular economy project idea so your grant funds can be useful in moving your business towards a circular economy solution.

Yes, businesses from other neighborhoods are welcome to apply.
This program is designed to support marginalized communities who are interested in exploring circular economy solutions. During our evaluation of the applications, we will prioritize applicants with locations in Lake City, Rainier Beach, Chinatown-International District, and South Park.

There are three components of this program that are required for you to receive the full $1,000 in grant funds:
(1) the pre-workshop assessment
(2) the interactive workshop on the circular economy
(3) a post-workshop coaching session
The baseline waste assessment is an optional add-on benefit to participating in this program.
